Three Day Weekends

I find Holiday weekends much more restful than a week's vacation. With today being Columbus Day Holiday that gave us a three day weekend as Tom and I both had today off.

On Friday after work we left for Jason's stopping at Denny's along the way for supper.

On Saturday morning Krissy and I enjoyed chatting while waiting for Angela to arrive.  For our special "family day" we all took Owen to PUMPKINLAND!

Here's my guys!!

Since balls are one of his favoirte toys, Owen thought theses balls were great!

We saw Charlie Brown in the pumpkin patch where Owen was allowed to choose a pumpkin to take home.

Pumpkin Land
had a lot of things for kids to  do.
Climb on a boat
House of balls
Haunted House
Haunted Hay ride
Regular Hay ride
Ride in the pumpkin express cart
Slides
Petting Barn
Pig races and more.
There were also many Consession stands - Owen had his first cotton candy; Krissy had her first candy apple.

On Sunday Dawn, Mom and I went to the miniatures show in Belfast.  We enjoyed the day looking at all of the wonderful miniatures and dolls that were offered for sale. Lunch was also served which was inexpensive and delicious.  My friend Annie met us there and we saw lots of friends from mini club and doll club.

Mom bought a baby doll for her mini cradle and a Ginny doll.   Mom bought the Ginny from Joyce who is a member of the Maine-ly Dolls club.  In honor of Mom's 85th birthday next week Joyce dressed Ginny in the sweetest garden outfit and gave the outfit to Mom.  It was very kind of Joyce to do that and the gesture gave us all a warm fuzzy feeling.  Of course I didn't think to take a picture then so will get one later when I visit Mom.

Dawn also bought a sweet Ginny from Joyce and a wonderful whale plaque from Miss Renee. Again where was my camera???

It seems my camera was readily available when it came to photographing my dolls and purchases which I will share with you.

Hitty Theresa, Hitty-Sue and Hitty Rose dressed up in their favorite Halloween costumes and so did Magnolia Pearl and Hitty Ruth.

Hitty Theresa was the delegated shopper so the other Hittys visited with Hitty Lena Mae.
The first thing Hitty Theresa did was to meet Ginny at Joyce's table.  There we bought a Ginny trunk for our Ginny friends, the trunk included a few outfits and hangers too.  Hitty Theresa wanted to take this sweetie home with us but her budget was getting low.  Miss Joyce said if Ginny did not get adopted at the show we could adopt her later.

At Jamie's booth Hitty Theresa purchased two trick or treat candy carriers, an orange pumpkin and a green alien.

Hitty Theresa's favorite booth was Miss Renee Bowen's. We own two books about Miss Renee titled Miss Renee's Mice and Miss Renee's Mice Go to an Exhibition which are some of Hitty Theresa's favorite books.  From Miss Renee's booth Hitty Theresa bought a horse toy and a peg wooden doll, both toys are illustrated in the book Miss Renee's Mice.

At Little World Minitature's booth Hitty Theresa found a matching chair for the entry in Grammy Poore's B&B.  Hitty Louise and Hitty Mertle are pleased to remove the red chair from the entry. The new chair makes the room look so much better.

After a busy two days it's nice to stay home, sleep in, do a little cleaning, laundry and relax.  I love thee day weekends!!!
