July 4, 2012 Moving Update

Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's been six months since I've posted. Where have I been and what have I been doing?  I guess nothing much exciting has been happening.

First I want to wish all of my Blog followers a wonderful and safe July 4.  We are staying home today, trying to catch up a little from when we went to Missouri to settle Tom's mother's estate.  Things are going along fine and hopefully her Will can be filed with the court by the end of next week and once the court agrees and appoints Tom as the personal representative we can liquidate the assets, sell the mobile home, pay the bills and get on with our lives.

Speaking of getting on with our lives, I'll take a moment to update you on the status of selling our house and moving.  That process has become a slow process too. First we wanted to put the house on the market by May 1st, but then we realized that if we sell the house and not the 2.5 acre lot of land next door we would not have enough money to buy a house in Southern Maine and pay closing and moving expenses.  So, we have only listed the land for now.  This does not make me happy because I was hoping to have sold the house, bought a new one and gotten settled by the end of September.  We will entertain any serious inquiries on the house and remaining 23 acres of land but for now the house is not listed publicly.  If you or anyone you know (please share this link) are interested in a nice lot of land in Bradley, convenient location to Bangor, Brewer, Old Town, Orono, and a reasonable commute to Ellsworth. We have listed the land for sale with Reality of Maine  http://www.realtyofmaine.com/index.php/listings/view/Land/1058826

While in Missouri we took 1/2 of a day off to visit the UFDC (United Federation of Doll Clubs) office and doll museum. I took tons of photos and when things settle down a bit I will be posting them for all to see.

Until next time, stay safe.
